ZILT ARCHITECTS

ZILT architects is an architectural firm that deals with very diverse assignments of different scale levels. Our assignment portfolio includes interior assignments, private homes, residential construction, utility buildings and urban studies and designs. In addition to new construction, we have experience with renovation and repurposing.

ZILT architects consists of the partners Rindert Gerritsma and Jenny van Heeringen. Both graduated from the Art Academy ArteZ (interior) and then from the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam (architecture).

VISION

Characteristic of our work is that the context is an important source of inspiration, whether it concerns a place on the land, in the city or on the scale of the building (interior or re-use). For us, the trick is to recognize the character of the place and its qualities and to incorporate them into the new design, in such a way that both reinforce each other. Many of the assignments concern a specific location where we try to go a step further than standard through innovative thinking. The challenge for us is to create a clear and powerful design with relatively simple but effective interventions. An important quality of ZILT architects is the way in which we solve urban allotments and give an attractive picture of the location's use.
